New Zealanders who dare to share the forbidden document with others face up to 14 years in prison –while the mere possession of the blueprint for violence and terror comes with a 10-year sentence. The strict law follows the declaration made by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern that she would never speak the gunman’s name again.

Mother Of All Caravans: Trump’ll Shut Mexico Border

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico is bracing for the possible arrival of the “mother of all caravans,” even as doubts arise over whether the group of Central American migrants will be all that big.

Interior Secretary Olga Sanchez Cordero has said a caravan of migrants from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala could be forming. “We have information that a new caravan is forming in Honduras, that they’re calling ‘the mother of all caravans,’ and they are thinking it could have more than 20,000 people,” Sanchez Cordero said Wednesday.

But a WhatsApp group calling for people to gather Saturday in El Salvador to set off for Guatemala only has about 206 members. Activist Irineo Mujica, who has accompanied several caravans in Mexico, said reports about “the mother of all caravans” were false, claiming “this is information that (U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen) Nielsen is using to create fear.”

Under Sharia law, the following is considered criminal behavior, punishable by fines, jail, amputation of limbs, public flogging or death by stoning: absence from Friday prayer services; becoming pregnant out of wedlock; wearing indecent clothing, and for women, refusal to wear a hijab; employing a non-Muslim baby sitter; the use of the word “Allah” by Christians and the discussion of faith by any non-Muslims; publicly eating or drinking during Ramadan; theft; homosexuality; and adultery.

The Sultan, now 67, has slowly been moving Brunei in this direction for decades, but this recent, drastic declaration has no clear motive. Brunei is so rich with oil, it’s fully independent; nor is it a target of Islamic extremists. So, why now?

Russian Troops Have Landed In Venezuela!

Caracas (AFP) – A cargo plane bearing the Russian flag was spotted by AFP at the main airport in Venezuela Sunday amid reports that Moscow has dispatched troops and a senior military official to the country.

The aircraft was seen at Maiquetia airport outside Caracas guarded by a contingent of Venezuelan National Guardsmen. Javier Mayorca, an independent journalist, reported on his Twitter account the arrival of two Russian panes — an Antonov-124 cargo plane and a smaller jet — late Saturday at the airport.

He said around 100 Russian soldiers led by General Vasily Tonkoshkurov, head of the Mobilization Directorate of Russia’s armed forces, disembarked along with about 35 tons of equipment. A picture of a Russian flagged aircraft posted on social media showed men in uniform clustered around it on the tarmac.

There was no confirmation from Venezuelan authorities, and the Russian embassy in Caracas declined to comment to AFP on the report, which was widely carried by Venezuelan media. Russia and China are the main allies of Venezuela. Both have lent billions of dollars to the oil-rich South American country, propping up the anti-US government of President Nicolas Maduro.

World's Largest Atom Smasher (Large Hadron Collider – LHC) May Have Just Found Evidence for Why Our Universe Exists: For the first time ever, physicists at the world’s largest atom smasher have observed differences in the decay of particles and antiparticles containing a basic building block of matter, called the charm quark.

The finding could help explain the mystery of why matter exists at all. "It's a historic milestone," said Sheldon Stone, a professor of physics at Syracuse University and one of the collaborators on the new research.

Matter and antimatter: Every particle of matter has an antiparticle, which is identical in mass but with an opposite electrical charge. When matter and antimatter meet, they annihilate one another. That's a problem. The Big Bang should have created an equivalent amount of matter and antimatter, and all of those particles should have destroyed each other rapidly, leaving nothing behind but pure energy.  

Clearly, that didn't happen. Instead, about 1 in a billion quarks (the elementary particles that make up protons and neutrons) survived. Thus, the universe exists. What that means is that particles and antiparticles must not behave entirely identically, Stone told Live Science. They should instead decay at slightly different rates, allowing for an imbalance between matter and antimatter. Physicists call that difference in behavior the charge-parity (CP) violation.

The ICC prosecutor had previously requested approval from the ICC’s judges to launch a formal investigation into what the prosecutor called the “situation in Afghanistan.” That request is still pending.

Secretary Pompeo warned all those working for the ICC that “if you’re responsible for the proposed ICC investigation of U.S. personnel in connection with the situation in Afghanistan, you should not assume that you will still have or will get a visa, or that you will be permitted to enter the United States.”

New Zealand terror suspect claims shooting was revenge for Stockholm terror attack: A suspected far-right extremist held in connection with a deadly shooting in New Zealand described it as "revenge" for the murder of an 11-year-old Swedish girl in the 2017 Stockholm terror attack.

The Australian-born suspect, understood to be a white man in his 20s, also reportedly describes himself as a racist and fascist, referring to Norwegian terrorist and mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik and Swede Anton Lundin Pettersson, who killed three people in an attack on a school in Trollhättan in 2015.

He describes his motives as revenge for terrorism in Europe, and specifically names 11-year-old Swedish girl Ebba, one of five people killed in a terror attack on Drottninggatan in Stockholm in 2017.

Dawoodi Bohra FGM Cult Controls 40 US Mosques

When two Muslim doctors and one manager of a clinic in Michigan were charged for performing female genital mutilation (FGM) on up to 100 girls from around the country since 2005, the case received significant media coverage.

What didn’t get much coverage was the fact that the defendants belonged to a pro-FGM, Indian-Muslim cultish sect the Dawwodi Bohra whose websites list 40 mosques and “jamaats” (meaning “communities”) it has in America.

The Bohra also has a branch of medical professionals named the Saifee Burhani Medical Association that designs “jamaat-level initiatives for long-term health and preventative care.” Another Bohra affiliate notably transfers money for unspecified “medical treatments” in South Asia.

During the same event, for instance, Ocasio-Cortez referenced Bill Gates’ idea of a 90 percent tax on robots, arguing that the enormous tax should be slapped on U.S. businesses to pay for welfare programs, so that laid-off workers don’t have to find new jobs as automation reshapes the economic landscape.

Huge power outage leaves most of Venezuela in darkness: A power outage left much of Venezuela in the dark since early Thursday evening in what appeared to be one of the largest blackouts yet in a country where power failures have become increasingly common.

Crowds of commuters in capital city Caracas were walking home after metro service ground to a halt and traffic snarled as cars struggled to navigate intersections where stoplights were out. Most of Venezuela still had no power Friday evening, more than 20 hours after a massive outage left over 70% of the country without electricity. The blackout stopped mass transit in the capital of Caracas, shuttering businesses, gas stations and even disrupting operations at hospitals.

Mauro Zambrano, representative of the hospitals and clinics union of Caracas, told CNN there have been four deaths at hospitals. One death took place at the Magallanes Hospital and another at the University Hospital, Zambrano said, adding that even though both hospitals had electricity "there were some failures."

Massacre At El Mozote, El Salvador (December 1981)

Massacre of Hundreds Reported in Salvador Village: From interviews with people who live in this small mountain village and surrounding hamlets, it is clear that a massacre of major proportions occurred here last month.

In some 20 mud brick huts here, this reporter saw the charred skulls and bones of dozens of bodies buried under burned-out roofs, beams and shattered tiles. There were more along the trail leading through the hills into the village, and at the edge of a nearby cornfield were the remains of 14 young men, women and children.

In separate interviews during a two-week period in the rebel-controlled northern part of Morazan Province, 13 peasants said that all these, their relatives and friends, had been killed by Government soldiers of the Atlacatl Battalion in a sweep in December.

The villagers have compiled a list of the names, ages and villages of 733 peasants, mostly children, women and old people, who they say were murdered by the Government soldiers. The Human Rights Commission of El Salvador, which works with the Roman Catholic Church, puts the number at 926.

In early January this year, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the youngest woman ever to serve in the United States Congress. There are many other things that catch your attention about this feisty young woman, better known by her shorter and catchier nickname – AOC.

Born in Bronx, of Puerto Rican parents, Ocasio-Cortez is only 29 years old. She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, an organization that ‘fights for reforms that empower working people.’ And the day she was sworn-in, she wore all-white.

“To honor the women who paved the path before me, and for all the women yet to come. From suffragettes to Shirley Chisholm, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the mothers of the movement,” she wrote on Twitter. She is also a social media star. I decided to follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Creator of Anti-AOC Times Square Billboard - 'She Literally Cost New York 25,000 Jobs': A conservative group called the Job Creators Network (JCN) placed a billboard in Times Square to call out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for celebrating Amazon's decision not to build a new headquarters in New York City.

Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), elected in November, was one of the most outspoken opponents of the new headquarters, but the president/CEO of the group said Monday that Ocasio-Cortez's actions are troubling to many New Yorkers.

In response to the billboard, Ocasio-Cortez called it "wack" and alleged it was funded by "dark money" from billionaires. "Few things effectively communicate the power we've built in fighting dark money & anti-worker policies like billionaire-funded groups blowing tons of cash on wack billboards," she tweeted.

Most voters stayed home for stunning Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez win: Here’s what you get when you hold primary elections in June: A tiny percentage of party voters determine the congressional candidates. Even in the most competitive races Tuesday, more than 80 percent of eligible voters stayed home.

In the race that caused an earthquake in the Democratic Party, 28-year-old newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset longtime Rep. Joe Crowley, 57 percent to 42 percent. But only about 13 percent of registered Democrats turned out to vote in the 14th Congressional District that takes in parts of Queens and the Bronx, according to a preliminary city Board of Elections tally.

There are 214,750 active registered Democratic voters in the district. Only 27,744 voted, and Ocasio-Cortez won by just over 4,000 votes. In another hotly contested race in Brooklyn’s 9th Congressional District, Rep. Yvette Clarke squeaked by insurgent Adem Bunkeddeko 52 to 48 percent. But turnout was only about 9 percent — with 28,266 out of 313,949 eligible Democrats voting.

A Chinatown mysteriously emerges in backwoods Myanmar: Shwe Kokko, a remote town along Myanmar’s Moei River, is the latest odd and bold outpost of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The town is still under construction but it already has a distinct Chinese flavor. There are Chinese restaurants, beauty salons and karaoke parlors. Chinese residents live in temporary barrack-style buildings while waiting for new apartment blocks and villas to be completed.

Other buildings resemble huge warehouses and what could be offices for businesses or administration. Even the armed security guards outside some of the houses where the migrants live have Chinese characters on their armbands. But this is not yet another construction project in China.

Freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused her detractors on Wednesday night of calling her criticisms of Israel “anti-Semitic” because she’s a Muslim.

Appearing alongside several other Democratic House members at a panel event billed as a “Progressive Town Hall” Wednesday night, the Minnesota lawmaker indicated that the uproar over her controversial tweets suggesting the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) buys off politicians was really bad-faith Islamophobic outrage.

“What I’m fearful of — because Rashida and I are Muslim — that a lot of our Jewish colleagues, a lot of our constituents, a lot of our allies, go to thinking that everything we say about Israel to be anti-Semitic because we are Muslim,” Omar said, referring to Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who was also on the panel.

In recent weeks, the former vice president's longtime advisers Steve Ricchetti and Mike Donilon have led a string of meetings with potential aides to fill out the campaign if Biden makes a decision to enter the race, sources tell The Hill.

Many of the positions would be filled by long-running Biden aides, a number of whom worked in the White House during the Obama administration and are acutely familiar with his style. “Whenever the VP makes a decision, we'll be ready to go,” said one source with direct knowledge of the planning.
