Abolish ICE: Socialists Defeating US Democrats

NEW YORK, NY: Progressive challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is joined by New York gubenatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon at her victory party in the Bronx after upsetting incumbent Democratic Representative Joseph Crowly on June 26, 2018 in New York City.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old, Bernie-Sanders-supporting political novice, has defeated incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in the 14th congressional district in the New York primary.

With 88% of precincts reporting in the heavily-Democratic (majority Latino) district that spans Queens and the Bronx, Ocasio-Cortez a Puerto Rican had crushed Crowley, 57.6% to 42.4%, a margin of nearly 3,600 votes. CNN notes that Ocasio-Cortez is a self-described (anti-Israeli & Pro-Palestinian) “democratic socialist.”

Crowley, currently in his 10th term and the chair of the House Democratic Caucus — ranked 4th in the whole caucus — was considered a possible future candidate for Speaker of the House, and had not faced a primary challenge in 14 years.

He has now become the first major casualty of the so-called “Resistance” — the left-wing movement that emerged to oppose President Donald Trump but has also clashed with the Democratic Party establishment.

Politico observes that Ocasio-Cortez “challenged Crowley on ideological and racial grounds.” She argued that the district needed a more left-wing representative, as well as someone who reflected the “majority-minority” demographic of the area, which has become increasingly (heavily) Latino. (Or, as she prefers, “Latinx.”)

“It’s time we say it: New York politics has an enormous misogyny problem. It has far-reaching consequences. In NYC our Governor, Mayor, Council Speaker, and Queens Dem Boss are all powerful white men. That’s not an accident. It’s a culture.”

Ocasio-Cortez (a racist Latino Socialist) ran on an explicit promise to abolish the federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, as well as to nationalize health care (like in UK and Europe).

“ICE is operating exactly as designed when it rips screaming children from parents. That’s exactly why we must abolish it. We MUST have the moral and political courage to #abolishICE. Weak half-measures do nothing. This is a defining moment of our time - the time to act is now.”

In the last days before the primary, Ocasio-Cortez traveled to McAllen, Texas to join left-wing protests against President Trump’s immigration policies. She organized a large volunteer contingent to canvass her district while she was away.

Ocasio-Cortez also appears to hold anti-Israel views, calling Israel’s response to violent Hamas “protests” at the Gaza border a “massacre.”

“This is a massacre. I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such. No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else. Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore. UPDATE: Number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces has gone up to 37 according to Palestinian Ministry of Health.”

She also attacked Crowley for his alleged support for the transfer of the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“In a bizarre twist, Rep. Crowley sent a woman with slight resemblance to me as his official surrogate to last night’s debate.@repjoecrowley’s surrogate said he is in full support of Trump’s embassy change in Israel last month (where 60 people died). The community was in shock.”

Ocasio-Cortez enjoyed the support of left-wing celebrities like Susan Sarandon, who hails from the area. Her campaign ads were sharp, innovative, and eye-catching. And she drew on widespread grassroots frustration with the Democratic Party establishment.

The left may have found a new standard-bearer — and Republicans may have found a new target. President Trump celebrated her win over one of his loudest critics:

“Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!”

Trump also framed her win in terms of the overall 2018 contest:

“The Democrats are in Turmoil! Open Borders and unchecked Crime a certain way to lose elections. Republicans are for Strong Borders, NO Crime! A BIG NIGHT!”

Ocasio-Cortez will face Republican Anthony Pappas, an economics professor, in November.
A pro-Muslim Puerto Rican woman Ocasion-Cortez defeated incumbent white man Crowley in Primary.
(Blogger’s Notes: USA has an unusual secondary electoral system called Primary where both Republican and Democratic party’s candidates are democratically and officially chosen as their respective party’s candidates for coming elections in a particular electorate.

Because of these government-supervised-and-funded Primary elections most political candidates are forced into either Republican or Democratic camp. The Primary elections basically enforce a rigid two party system in the United States.

The bizarre result is the bunching together of leftwing extremists like Bernie Sanders and Occasio-Cortez the socialists with Clinton and Schumer the establishment Democrats into the single Democrat Party camp.

Unlike in other developed democracies like UK and Australia the party establishment in US has no real say in who will be their party's candidate for a particular electorate as that decision is completely in the hands of voters because of Primary system.

The rising popularity of so-called Democratic Socialists mainly due to the massive inflow of left-leaning Latinos into the cities like New York will eventually implode the Democratic Party, I believe, unless US abolishes the Primary and relaxes rigid two party electoral system.)

Without ICE American cities like New York and LA will be overran by millions of MS-13 gangbangers.
Abolishing ICE Would Free Millions Of Illegal Alien Criminals

Abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — as Democrats have sought to do — would have set free more than 1.6 million illegal aliens in the United States over the last five years.

For months, Democrats running for Congress, along with House and Senate Democrats, have touted their plan for open borders by abolishing the ICE agency, tasked with arresting and deporting illegal aliens from the U.S. This week, multiple House Democrats said they supported a platform that abolishes ICE, ending all interior enforcement of immigration, as Breitbart News reported.

Additionally, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered an upset to establishment Democratic power player Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) during this week’s primary elections, running on a platform that promises to abolish ICE. In the Senate, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has led the effort on legislation that would end all border and immigration enforcement across the U.S., as Breitbart News reported.

If Democrats had their way and ICE been abolished five years ago, back in 2013, there would have been at least 1.64 million illegal aliens — many of which are convicted criminals — released into U.S. neighborhoods and communities rather than being deported.
In Fiscal Year 2014, there would have been more than half a million illegal aliens released into American towns, suburbs, and cities, with close to 580,000 illegal aliens getting off the hook from being deported.

Contrary to  the Democrats’ call to abolish ICE and immigration enforcement, President Trump has asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to hire an additional 1,000 ICE agents to help the agency deport some of the roughly 12 to 30 million illegal aliens living across the U.S.

“Girl From The Bronx” Ocasio-Cortez Is a Fake Socialist?

"Girl From The Bronx" Ocasio-Cortez Called Out In Fact Check; Actually Grew Up In Wealthy Enclave: The Democratic Party's rising socialist icon - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been on an intense media junket since her upset primary victory over establishment Democrat Joe Crowley this week - doing her darnedest to project her "girl from the Bronx" working-class image.

“Well, you know, the president is from Queens, and with all due respect — half of my district is from Queens — I don’t think he knows how to deal with a girl from the Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez told Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Show.

The socialist phenom also told the Washington Post "I wasn’t born to a wealthy or powerful family — mother from Puerto Rico, dad from the South Bronx. I was born in a place where your Zip code determines your destiny."

Except Ocasio-Cortez isn't quite the blue-collar champion she's branding herself as. Breitbart's Josh Caplan is out with a "fact check" on the Democratic Socialist's background - only to find she grew up in one of the richest counties in the United States.

Around the age of five, Alexandria’s architect father Sergio Ocasio moved the family from the “planned community” of Parkchester in the Bronx to a home in Yorktown Heights, a wealthy suburb in Westchester County. The New York Times describes her childhood home as “a modest two-bedroom house on a quiet street.” In a 1999 profile of the area, when Ocasio-Cortez would have been ten years old, the Times lauded Yorktown Heights’ “diversity of housing in a scenic setting” – complete with two golf courses.

Cortez's Yorktown Heights is miles away from the Bronx.
The paper quoted Linda Cooper, the town supervisor, describing Yorktown as ”a folksy area where people can come, kick off their shoes, wander around, sit in a cafe, listen to a concert in the park, or go to the theater.”

Westchester County – which the Washington Post, in a glowing profile on Ocasio-Cortez, describes as only “middle class” – ranks #8 in the nation for the counties with the “highest average incomes among the wealthiest one percent of residents.” According to the Economic Policy Institute, the county’s average annual income of the top one percent is a staggering $4,326,049.

Yorktown Heights, specifically, offers a sharp contrast from Bronx living. According to USA.com, the town’s population is 81 percent white, and median household income is $96,413 – nearly double the average for both New York state and the nation, according to data from 2010-2014.

Not exactly Jenny from the block.. We wonder how long it will take Ocasio-Cortez to ride the so-called "Democratic Socialist" wave until she's firing off tweets from her third home and making $1 million, two years in a row, like that fake Socialist Bernie Sanders.

Ocasio-Cortez’s Socialism Won’t Win The Midwest

Dem Sen Duckworth: Ocasio-Cortez’s Ideology the ‘Future of the Democratic Party’ in the Bronx, Won’t Win in the Midwest. Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) reacted New York Democratic congressional hopeful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary victory Tuesday night over Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY).

Host Jake Tapper asked if Ocasio-Cortez socialist platform was the future of the Democratic Party. Partial transcript as follows:

TAPPER: There were obviously a lot of shockwaves in the Democratic Party Tuesday night, when 28-year-old Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeated the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House, Joe Crowley, has a platform of Medicare for all, federal jobs guarantee, free college tuition.

Is this the future of the Democratic Party?

DUCKWORTH: I think it’s the future of the party in the Bronx, where she is. I think that we, as legislators, need to listen to our constituency and get out there. I think what she did was, she did the hard work. She pounded the pavement, and she was out there talking to every one of her constituents. And I think that was the difference. She turned out her voters and reflected the needs of her district.

TAPPER: Are you concerned at all that your party is going too far to the left to either win in the midterms or win back the White House?

DUCKWORTH: Well, I think that you can’t win the White House without the Midwest. And I don’t think that you can go too far to the left and still win the Midwest. Coming from a Midwestern state, I think you need to be able to talk to the Industrial Midwest. You need to listen to the people there in order to win an election nationwide.

Democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is no longer left enough for some Democrats, because he has been reluctant to join calls to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

That’s according to the New Republic, once a reliable center-left organ. Writer Sarah Jones has declared that Sanders is “undermining his position as the nation’s most prominent left-wing politician” by suggesting that ICE should be reformed, rather than endorsing the total elimination of border enforcement. Jones writes:

“Sanders could be a source of consistent, left-wing pressure on party leadership, whether or not he runs in 2020. If he intends to build a lasting political movement out of the remnants of his last presidential campaign, he’ll need to become an effective counterweight to the mainstream Democratic Party. But based on his ICE comments and the uneven results of his campaign efforts, Sanders no longer seems like such a sure figurehead for disgruntled Democratic voters.”

While Sanders has inspired many on the left, including newest Democratic Party heroine Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, his refusal to abolish ICE outright, Jones argues, means that perhaps he was never such a thought leader after all. “[D]espite his sudden popularity in 2015, Sanders has never been a figurehead to everyone in the American left. … He does not occupy the left-most band of the spectrum,” Jones writes.

She goes on to list his apparent heresies, including his reluctance to call for the nationalization of industry:

“It’s certainly true that Sanders is to the left of most Democrats. But contrary to how he’s often portrayed in the media, he is not a doctrinaire leftist. … Sanders is not a revolutionary. His views aren’t even entirely consistent with democratic socialism, the political tradition he claims. It’s one thing to call for breaking up the big banks, and quite another to call for the nationalization of private industries.”

The fact that Sanders stopped short of joining calls to abolish ICE turns out to be the latest heterodoxy — and, for Jones, it is the last straw. In fact, she says, Sanders is basically a “mainstream politician” who has no real claim to left-wing credentials but for the fact that American political discourse has shifted so far to the right.

In contrast, those who have passed the Democrats’ new litmus test include Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

(Blogger's Notes: I was born in Burma and had lived there nearly 30 years till I escaped to Thailand in 1984 and then to Australia in 1988. Nobody could understand the ultimate suffering of people under Socialism except us Burmese.

Burmese were so unbelievably fucked by the Socialists for many decades till 1988 and they hate Socialists so much that even now after more than 30 years no Burmese politician dare to claim he or she is a Socialist unless one is suicidal and wants to be lynched in streets. So in 2011 when I landed in New York I was so flabbergasted by the popularity of Socialists in USA.

Only later I understand that Americans have never lived under a Socialist regime and thus have not a clue how bad Socialists can be once they have a chance to rule over the society. They think Socialists will stop at freezing rents and providing free hospitals and colleges. They are wrong as the Socialists will go much farther and far worse than they can imagine now.

In my opinion Socialism is brutally simple. Socialists really believe that;

1) Everything on this earth is collectively owned by everybody,
2) Everybody should produce what they best can, and
3) Everybody should consume only what they really need.

That basic idea (From each according to his ability, to each according to his need) is quite simple and genuinely altruistic. Only problem is how to achieve that ultimate Utopian society? Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Polpot, and other crazily foolish Socialists came up with a (practical but horribly-brutal & evil) system where they and their followers  (also known as the one-party State) ruled over the society by force and thus owned everything and forced everyone to produce and consume only what they the State ordered.

The result was mass murders, black-markets, hyper inflation, mass starvations, and eventual genocides. I think Americans should try Socialism for a couple of decades to taste the real Socialism and only then they will understand how bad Socialism really is. Reading Solzhenitsyn's "Gulag Archipelago" or George Orwell's "Animal Firm" wouldn't be enough for them.

Long live President Bernie-Sanders or Presidentess Ocasio-Cortez!!)
