With the nickname “The Contractor” given by his own
army officers he has given every Defense Department's building construction and maintenance
jobs to the conglomerate controlled by his son Aung Pyae Sone. The competitive
tendering process is conveniently ignored for every defense projects and MAH’s
family companies always win the tender regardless of how overly expensive and how
shoddy the reputation is.
Just first two months this year alone MAH's companies snatched 13 government projects worth 280 million US dollars. But our greedy MAH is not just happy with the billions of kyats regularly flowing into his pockets, he shamelessly committed the most atrocious corrupt crime by forcing all Myanmar servicemen and servicewomen to take out a scam life insurance from his family-owned insurance company “Aung Myintmo Min” privately owned by his son that notorious Aung Pyae Sone.
MAH makes it mandatory
for all his soldiers to buy life insurance. They are required to buy a minimum
two-year policy worth 500,000 kyats and pay a monthly premium of at-least 8,500
kyats depending on their ranks. The monthly premium is conveniently taken out direct from the soldiers’ monthly salaries, and most soldiers do not like it at all.
At an average premium of 10,000 kyats per month for
nearly 400,000 personnel, on paper MAH’s family has siphoned off nearly four
billion kyats every month last decade since he became the Chief of Myanmar Army
in 2010 and started stealing people’s money aggressively. Trillions of Myanmar Kyats converted to hard currencies and stashed away in Singapore, Thailand, Belarus, and even China. When his regime is kaput next government will have a huge task to locate all those mountains of illicit cash.
The worst thing
is despite taking hard cold cash out of his own soldiers’ salaries he then flatly refused
to pay them when they were KIAs (Killed-in-action) in the battlfields if the greiving
families cannot poduce the documented evidence of their loved-ones’ dead bodies.
No dead body no insurance payout. Forget about the MIAs (Missing-in-action). The MIAs
are simply considered the deserters and completely written off.
With no pensions
and no insurance payouts Myanmar soldiers are nowadays simply refusing to fight for
his greedily corrupt family and surrendering to the ragtag ethnic insurgent armies in drove. The hated Motherfucker’s
days are now rapidly numbered!
