CYBER WAR: Burma Vs Bangladesh!

(Following article is direct from SOFTPEDIA - 19 June 2012 14:23 GMT.)

The Bangladeshi Cyber Army has declared a cyber-war on Myanmar, accusing the country of killing innocent Muslims and its hackers of breaching Bangladeshi websites.

“We are Bangladesh Cyber Army. Recently, we have been seeing that the hackers of Myanmar are hacking our country's websites. Not only this, Myanmar is also killing the innocent Muslims of their country,” the hackers told Softpedia.

“This injustice over the Muslims and attack on the Bangladeshi cyber space has forced us to react. In this situation, we feel the necessity of a cyber war, against racists. We defeated Indians and it's their time now,” they explained.

“Human Rights Commission and other Governments who have the ability to stop all these are sitting idle under this situation. We request them to come forward and stand against injustice.”

To show that they’re serious, the hackers defaced the websites of Myanmar Tour and Travel, the University of Medicine in Mandalay, Myanmar Logistics Co, Client Focus Technology Group, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, The Royal Hantha Arts of Myanmar Artists, Myanmar Clover Hotel Yangon, and others.

A number of government websites have also been taken down by their administrators as a result of the attacks launched by the Bangladeshi Cyber Army.

The sites are the ones of the Ministry of Co-operatives, Central Statistical Organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry, Ministry of Construction, and the one of the government.

Myanmar, also known as Burma or the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, is located in Southeast Asia, Bangladesh being one of the countries it borders.

So now, we have cyber-wars between India and Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, and Bangladesh and Myanmar, just to mention a few.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A hacktivists collective from Myanmar (Burma) has taken down a number of 92 Bangladeshi government websites in response to the attacks carried out yesterday by the Bangladeshi Cyber Army.

“Stop lying that you don’t know about ‘Rohingya’, and accept your own people at your land, don't try to invade our land of Burma (Myanmar), enough is enough!” the hackers wrote.

“You people make so called name ‘Rohingya’ and letting your Bangladesh to sneak into Burma illegal since you are poor, if you want to visit to Burma, come with Papers and passport, don't come to Burma and bribe the authorities and try to invade our land,” they added.

“We, the Burmese hackers, waged the war with Bangladesh governments, and lately we found out that some scripts kiddies from Bangladesh started to hack Burmese sites. Really? Yo! script kiddies, do you want to get a name of ‘HACKER’ in the game of hacking? Try it more! you guys are imperfect! The real hackers never go to jail!”

They also claim to know the identities of many of the Bangladeshi hackers who have recently targeted sites from Myanmar.

Some of the affected websites have been restored, but many of them are still offline as a result of the attack.

It appears that they may have all been stored on the same server and that’s how the hacktivists managed to remove them so quickly.

Besides the government domains, the Myanmar hackers defaced the website of the University of Chittagong.

They also claim to have deleted the entire database of a major Bangladesh news website, BDNews24.

It seems that both sides are determined to continue the attacks and we may be witnessing a similar cyberbattle as the one that takes place between India and Pakistan.
