AA Attacking Shwe-Thaung-Yan Town Near Bassein

(Khian Lu Hla’s post from the NARINJARA NEWS on 11 January 2025.)

AA and Allied PDF Forces Capture Ma Gyi Zin Village Near Shwe Thaung Yan, Pathein Township, Ayeyarwady Region: The Arakan Army (AA) and its allied troops launched an attack along the coastline into Pathein Township, seizing the Ma Gyi Zin village on the evening of January 9, according to a local military source.

“Ma Gyi Zin is a sizable village with a cottage hospital. This evening, the AA assumed control. Crossing the bridge at Ma Gyi Zin takes you to Baw Mi. The junta troops are holding out in the villages, yet we are observing them retreating village by village," the military source stated.

Crossing the Ma Gyi Zin Bridge leads to Baw Mi, and from Baw Mi, AA troops can reach famous Shwe Thaung Yan. Intense combat also erupted in Kular Chaung in Shwe Thaung Yan Town, as the junta mobilized the army, navy, and air force for assaults.

"The clashes occurred yesterday in Kular Chaung close to Shwe Thaung Yan Town, where the junta deployed a united force of the army, navy, and air force. The fighting was fierce, but the AA has taken Kular Chaung,” the source reported. After seizing Kular Chaung, the AA and its allied forces advanced and gained control of Pauk Tuu Kwin, Tham Man Chai, and Ma Gyi Zin.

The AA-led troops have moved closer to Shwe Thaung Yan Town in Pathein Township, taking control of multiple villages during their advance. These encompass Kyauk Chun, Chaung Wa Chai, Ah Maw Gyi, Kular Chaung, and Ma Gyi Zin, which are key locations close to the entrance of Shwe Thaung Yan Town.

Following Ma Gyi Zin, the subsequent sites are Chai Lel and Baw Mi, where military forces are deployed. Narinjara News has contacted AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha to verify the reports regarding the clashes.

(Blogger’s Notes: After capturing the GWA the southern-most township in Arakan State, AA has bypassed Myanmar Army defensive line at the Arakan-Irrawaddy Border and landed sizeable troops from the sea near Shwe-Thaung-Yan resort Town. Now AA troops are in the Irrawaddy Division and on the verge of capturing Shwe-Thaung-Yan first and then Chaung-Thar and Ngwe-Thaung resort towns. Bassein (Pathein) City the Capital of Irrawaddy Division the rice bowl of Burma will soon fall to AA, who knows?

The survival of Motherfucker Min Aung Hlaing and his devastated Myanmar Army now is solely depending on how many troops are still there in the Irrawaddy Division, for many divisions and battalions were already wasted in defending the northern ethnic lands rapidly lost to the MNDAA, TNLA, CNDF, KNDF, KIA, and MDY-PDF last two years.)
