True
crowned emperor of new AI era - NVIDIA's father Jensen Huang: The person
solemnly receiving country's highest science honor award (National Medal of
Science) from US President Donald Trump is NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang who is
backbone of world's AI technology revolution.
Who
is Jensen Huang? Jensen Huang is an engineer born in Taiwan and moved to US
since young to study, and in 1993 started founding NVIDIA company.
Many
decades ago only produced graphics cards (GPU Graphics Processing Unit) to make
better visuals for computer game players, but today chips he produces have
become indispensable "Brains of AI era" needed for world's AI big
models to think calculate.
Traditional CPUs can only do one calculation at a time, but GPUs invented by Huang can do parallel millions of calculations at same time, so it is irreplaceable foundation in driving Generative AI, AGI and Super Intelligence (SI).
Outwardly
Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman are famous prominent, but in real
reality they all are like water in Jensen Huang's palm. As saying "In gold
rush era, shovel seller is always richer than gold digger", in big AI gold
rush Jensen Huang is the one who monopolizes selling world's most advanced
shovels alone. Currently more than 80% of world's AI chip market is controlled
by NVIDIA alone.
Currently
world's top technology empires all have to pour hundreds of billions dollars
and queue waiting to get Jensen Huang's chips, Elon Musk (xAI / Tesla) has used
over one hundred thousand NVIDIA's H100 and H200 chips to build world's biggest
AI supercomputer Colossus, and for Tesla's Full Self-Driving system (FSD) also
Huang's chips are indispensable.
Meta
(Facebook) - Mark Zuckerberg has bought and collected hundreds of thousands of
NVIDIA GPU chips to run Llama AI models and new smart glasses systems. Google,
Microsoft and Amazon also, to provide AI service in their Cloud data centers,
have to buy rely on Huang's chips inevitably.
If
Jensen Huang or NVIDIA did not exist, if production stopped, Elon Musk's xAI,
Zuckerberg's Meta, Google's Gemini, Microsoft's Copilot all would become like
brainless overnight, and whole world AI revolution could suddenly stop.
Future
world will not be enough with just creating software little apps, but in
solving natural world puzzles, finding new cancer cure drugs, cyber wars and
marching to Super Intelligence (SI), only hardware power that can calculate
within seconds will decide.
Because
Jensen Huang created that whole calculation engine, US White House and Pentagon
headquarters themselves have to bow nationally rely on him.

What
just happened? Jensen Huang has received the National Medal of Science for
turning the GPU from a graphics chip into a computing platform used in AI and
scientific research. President Donald Trump presented the award to Nvidia's
founder and CEO at a technology summit at the US Institute of Peace in
Washington, D.C.
AMD
CEO Lisa Su, Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Elon Musk also received the
National Medal of Science at the event. Dell founder Michael Dell and Microsoft
CEO Satya Nadella received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, a
separate federal honor.
Huang's
citation highlighted massively parallel computation and the breakthroughs it
made possible. The recognition reflects a change in how GPUs are used: hardware
originally developed to put images on a screen became an architecture for
general-purpose computing, extending its reach into AI and scientific
workloads.
Under
Huang, Nvidia developed the technology beyond its gaming origins. That shift
gave researchers a computing platform suited to work beyond graphics and helped
advance AI and scientific computation.
Massively
parallel computation is the link between those uses. The citation credits
Huang's contributions to massively parallel computing with enabling significant
breakthroughs. The award recognizes both the underlying computing architecture
and the applications it enabled.
The
other recipients represent several parts of the technology industry that
supplies AI computing systems. Nvidia and AMD develop chips, while Google,
Microsoft and Dell span cloud services and computer hardware.
Jensen Huang says AI labs that can't control their systems should shut down: The summit also included investment announcements from industry leaders. Eleven technology companies pledged a combined $2.4 billion in AI tools and computing credits to support the government's Genesis Mission, an initiative aimed at accelerating scientific discoveries through AI. Nvidia made the largest commitment, pledging $1 billion over five years to support scientific research.
The
National Medal of Science is the US government's highest scientific honor,
awarded since 1963. For Huang, it follows the IEEE Medal of Honor, which he
received in 2026, and the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, which he
shared with Nvidia chief scientist Bill Dally in 2025.
